Location Review of Enotel Lido Madeira

Enotel Lido Madeira has one of the best locations on the island, in my humble opinion! It is located on the southern coast of Madeira, about 15 minute drive from the center of Funchal. The hotel has panoramic views of the ocean, complemented by a backdrop of steep mountains behind it. From the outdoor infinity pool you can see the ocean and the beautiful rock formation called Lido.
Below is another picture, but it truly doesn't do it justice to viewing in person!

Renting a Car on Madeira & Free Parking at Enotel Lido
Our family really liked the proximity of the hotel to downtown Funchal as well as to the airport only 25 minutes away. We rented a car (so affordable! Less than €100 for 3 days!) with RentalCars.com so we could explore the island. We really liked renting with them (part of Booking.com) because they offer great cancellation and you can compare many different companies. We ended up with an automatic from Sixt which was perfect for our family of 4.
And there was free parking in the garage under Enotel Lido which was great for us!
Pools and Kids Club at Enotel Lido Madeira

We visited the hotel in mid-February during my kids Carnaval break on mainland Portugal so a heated pool was our number 1 priority! I searched for a hotel that had both beautiful views as well as a heated pool and Enotel Lido was perfect. There is a large outdoor infinity pool plus this semi-indoor pool under an overhang but most importantly, heated!
The pool was open 8 AM to 8 PM every day and had hydro-aerobics at 11:30 AM every day in half the pool. The kids came here every day and loved it! You get pool towels and 2 robes in your room to use and the Italian cafe is located right next to this for snacks!

The Kids Club and Teen Room at Enotel Lido Madeira stand out as awesome spaces designed to entertain and engage kids! For the little ones, the Kids Club offers a safe and fun place with the supervision of friendly and professional staff. It was open each day from around 9 AM to 9 PM with a break for lunch. They had daily planned activities like Puppet Making, Movie Night, Karaoke, Magic Tricks, Crafts, Indoor Trampoline etc.
Meanwhile, the Teen Room caters to the older kids, providing a cool and relaxed space where teens can hang out, make new friends, and enjoy age-appropriate entertainment such as video games, table sports, and interactive competitions.
We were also at Enotel Lido for Valentine's Day and they had a great mime come to the main restaurant and perform. He was so fun!
Hotel Room Review at Enotel Lido Madeira

We reserved and paid for a standard room at Enotel Lido Madeira and it worked great for our 3 nights at the hotel. I would probably have upgraded to a Suite or Family Room if we were to have stayed longer because it was a little small for 4 of us for a long period. Each room is equipped with:
- A Sleeping Area: Comfortable beds with premium bedding.
- A Private Bathroom: We had both a shower and giant bathtub, towels, 2 robes and slippers and complimentary toiletries.
- In-Room Amenities: A flat-screen TV, minibar with some complimentary soft drinks and a safe for valuables.
Our room had a great private balconies with views of the ocean. They even left chocolate for Valentine's Day!
Overview of the 4 Restaurants at Enotel Lido

All-Inclusive Dining Review at Enotel Lido Madeira
This was the first all-inclusive experience for our family and we really, really enjoyed it! I thought that maybe we would eat out of the restaurant once a day but in fact, our kids loved the food so much that we ate all our meals for 3 days there! There are 4 main restaurants and a great all day Italian buffet area so there was always something to choose from. Also the free espresso and coffee machines and bar were great.
Note on food allergies: I was really impressed by the signage on almost all the food for the common allergens. One of us is lactose intolerant and the other is gluten-sensitive and we could always tell which dishes had these in them. Also they always had gluten free bread and cake which was just amazing!

Overall Food Quality
The food quality across the Enotel Lido Madeira's restaurants was great for buffets. My husband got a little tired of it by the end of our trip but me and the kids did not! I loved that we could eat right away and there was always an option my kids loved. The staff were very friendly and attentive too.
Pros and Cons of the Enotel Lido in Madeira

Pros
- Location: We just loved the location with its proximity to the ocean and the easy access to the promenade for walks along the coastline and views from all parts of the hotel.
- Food: Loved how easy and varied the food was for our family!
- Heated Pool: Perfect for February even though it was 70s outside!
- Kid-Friendly: The hotel is extremely kid-friendly and my kids loved it! Billards and pong pong in one hallway.

Cons or Things to Note:
- The hotel's decor being a bit dated in the common areas but the room felt renovated.
