Snow Tubing West Virginia - Closest to DC Area!
River Riders Snow Tubing in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia
Time from DC: 68 miles, 1.5 hours
2024-2025 Dates: The season typically starts in mid-December and runs through February, depending on weather conditions.
Minimum Height/Age: Must be 36 inches or taller. Participants under 42 inches must go in tandem with an adult.

Snow Tubing Virginia - Under 3 hours from DC
Massanutten Resort - With Nighttime Virginia Snow Tubing!
Time from DC: 120 miles, 2.5 hours from DC
Minimum Height/Age: Children must be at least 36 inches tall to tube.
2024-2025 Dates: The tubing season at Massanutten Resort typically begins in December and runs through early March, depending on the weather.
Cost: Monday - Friday $30 for a 90-minute session, Saturday Sunday and Holiday is $40 for the 90-minute session.

One of the most popular snow tubing in Virginia spots! They have a magic carpet ride that takes you up the hill during your 90-minute session. Every day (except Sundays) they are open until 10 PM for some fun night tubing!
Massanutten also has skiing, indoor water park and ice skating. They have a limited number of tickets each day and each session so you must reserve ahead of time. (It's been hard to find weekend tickets for the upcoming week so consider checking a couple weeks in advance!)

Bryce Resort Snow Tubing Virginia - Our Family's Favorite!
Time from DC: 116 miles, 2.25 hours from DC
Minimum Height/Age: Kids must be 4 years old and 36 inches tall.
2024-2025 Dates: Bryce Resort usually opens its tubing lanes in mid-December and runs through late February or early March.
Cost: The cost is $33 for a 90-minute session

Canaan Valley Snow Tubing - West Virginia
Time from DC: 177 miles, 3.25 hours West of DC
Minimum Height/Age: Kids 4 years old and 42" tall are permitted. Both age and height requirements must be met.

- $23.58 for times between 10 AM and 5 PM for a 2 hours session.

Has a magic carpet to take you to the top! The Bald Knob Haus located at the Tube Park has a Fireplace, Restrooms and an Outdoor Fire Ring.
Canaan Valley Snow Tubing is also very close to the longest sledding run on the East Coast at Blackwater Falls State Park! We loved our visit there last year and wrote all about it here.

They use artificial snow on their skiing and I believe rubber for the tubing so you can tube year round! It is located outdoor and it is a weather-dependent activity. "Please call ahead to verify tubing is available if Lynchburg is experiencing inclement weather."
